Taste of the Wild is an all life stages food, meaning you can feed it to a puppy, an adult dog, or a senior dog. I feed the "High Prairie" to my 4 year old dog, and my mom feeds it to her 13 year old dog, and they both love it. It is an excellent food.
A lot of specialists do not recommend feeding a large breed formula to any dog of any age, because it is too high in protein and too low in fat for a dog to eat. Especially when fed to a puppy, it will make them grow too fast, resulting in brittle bones and joint problems. Innova makes a great regular puppy formula, but contains grains unlike TOTW.
It is ultimately up to you what you feed your dog. TOTW is the cheapest grain free food that I've ever found.

I have mine on Wellness Large Breed puppy formula. He's not a pitbull, but he'll be 50-60 lbs full grown. The people at the health food store (where I buy the food) told me that you can get large breed foods if you dog will be more than 45 lbs full grown. Mine is doing well on it, he's 5 months old now. I'm not sure if there is that much difference. I know the kibble itself if a little larger and possible the protein % is different. by the way...when we got our pup (at 2 1/2 months) he had the worst gas possible! It would happend every couple of minutes! I've been giving him a tblspn of plain yogurt with his morning kibble and I swear he hasnt had any since. The bacteria in the yogurt is supposed to be good for their stomachs. I think it can vary among dogs, but mine has been doing wonderful with it. maybe you can try that for a day or two and see how yours does

I fed my dog Iams for the first few years of his life until I did some research and realized I was practically poisoning him! I think Innova and Tast of the Wild are both really good foods, and there are other good ones too that you can find in a pet food store. I would get a sample of each and see which one your dog likes best. I change my dog's food every few months so that he doesn't develop any food sensitivites, So far I've tried Innova, Wellness and Canidae. If your dog shows signs of allergies, like itchy skin, go for grain free. Good luck!
