High PTH levels...(dialysis question)?

I know this is a long-shot but I'm curious if anyone out there that is on kidney dialysis had a high PTH level before starting the treatments? They would tell you this when they got blood results back. Normal is 150-300, and when I started kidney dialysis, mine was up in the 2000's! I read that it can cause bone pain and weakness. I've been having considerable pain walking and going up and down stairs for almost a year and I have been asking the docs if that could be why but none of them have been able to give me an answer. I recently started dialysis a couple weeks ago so I guess I'll see if the pain and weakness stops when my levels come down, but until then, has anyone else been through this?? I can't find any other reason for the pain in my feet/ankles/knees, and the weakness that accompanies it.

I doubt it matters, but I'm 37 years old.

There are painful bone conditions associated with significant hyperparathyroidism. With a PTH that high your bones have been having very high turnover or remodeling. This can be very painful.

Did they look for a parathyroid adenoma? 2000s is higher than we are used to seeing simply secondary to kidney disease. It is possible but not that common.

I would ask for a referral to an endocrinologist to work up for a parathyroid adenoma. The reason I would do that is you are very young and will likely qualify for a transplant at some time. You will need to be in top health for that to go well and some of the medications can weaken bones.
