?

I need to feed about 12 people in a week or so, it's for my 40th birthday get together. I'm on a serious budget so I was wondering if anyone had cheap and easy ideas. I thought about making strombolis, or maybe just tacos...but want to do something different. I'm not into cooking fancy meals, this is just a simple get together with family. Any ideas?

When making green bean casserole, can you use cream of chicken soup, instead of cream of mushroom? Will it taste good?

Why is it that when you have a cold, they're always worse at night when you're trying to sleep, or early mornings? I've tried to find answers to this and can't.

I'm going to make a salad with curly noodles, ranch dressing, chopped celery, tomatoes, cheese cubes, bell pepper. It's a cold salad. I can't remember if I mixed salad dressing or mayonnaise with the ranch! Does anyone know which would be better?

A friend of mine is married to a pharmacy tech. I was told that whatever prescription you can get your vet to write for your dog can be filled at any pharmacy! I don't know if it's true but it's supposed to be so much cheaper. Has anyone heard of this or done this before?

My dog Lucy is 13 now and I've had her since she was born. In the past couple weeks she has fallen 4 times. She hasn't been hurt thankfully, but I know she's old. She gets around a little slower as all aging dogs do. I give her 3 to 4 aspirin a day because she has arthritis. I can't afford the crazy high prices of the pain meds anymore from her vet so they said I could give her aspirin. I wonder if she could be getting too used to it now, like maybe I should try Advil or Tylenol? What do you all think? ...or should I stick with her aspirin routine?

My birthday is coming up and I'm making a taco salad. I'm having a lot of people over and wondered what, if anything would go well with it. I was thinking cottage cheese, sort of like a side, ya know?

Any other suggestions?

My birthday is coming up and I thought about making taco salad. I had it once when I was 19, but I'm in my 30's now and can't remember how it was made. What I think is everything needed to make tacos...meat, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, taco chips or shells, refried beans, and the taco seasoning. ALL that, plus whatever else ya like, mixed together in a big pot and the taco shells broken up and mixed in, and then heated.

Does that sound right? I was also thinking of putting ranch dressing on it, not sure. What do you all think?? I want to make a good meal for the family on my birthday!

My dog has been having swelling above her right eye off and on for months. It's kind of like her eyebrow/lid area. It's swelled so much that it almost shuts her eye. The eyes are clear and there's no drainage, also no nasal drainage so I'm at a loss as to what to think. I can't afford to take her to the vet right now.. I was thinking allergies to something, but nothing has changed in the house. .does anyone have any suggestions?

I used to watch Forever Knight a long time ago and liked the series. I forgot all about it until tonight when I saw it on youtube. I've also watched (and loved!!) Angel. I prefer Angel over Forever Knight any day but did they perhaps "steal" the idea? Even the music at the start of the show is too similar to be ignored. Then it's the whole....I was an evil vamp for centuries and now I need to repay my sins by doing good in the world...ya know? I know all about the differences in the particulars of the shows but do you know what I mean? Did the makers of Angel rip off Forever Knight?? I hope not!

Can someone explain to me what exactly happened to Cordelia on the show Angel? Last I knew, she had visions, OK. Then something happened and she was some celestial being? Whats that about? And what happened to her? I dont care why she left the show, I'm curious about what happened to her character. I don't want to have to search and search old episodes to find out.

I'm 37 and I have a date today. I don't think it matters how long a date is if you're having fun but I've heard people say there should be a time limit.

How long would you say a first date should last?

A friend of mine told me to take a bath with about 12 aspirins and 2 cups of milk. He said to soak about 15 minutes then shower as usual and this will help you with dry skin.

Has anyone heard this?

Does anyone have any home remedies for really dry skin? Lotion just doesn't help much.

What is wrong with these mothers that are always being caught leaving their kids alone in filthy houses?!! What excuse can they possibly give for letting their children live in bug infested, filthy houses, with dirty diapers and little to no food...animals running around half starved as well...and to top it off, they leave them there for hours or days while they're gone doing God knows what?

There is no excuse in my opinion. I don't care if you're on drugs, you were raised bad, you're not well educated...whatever... you need your kids taken and never returned.

On this, Justin Timberlake makes a reference to how he will sleep with many beautiful women and be bored so he might try things with guys. It's a SNL skit, but you'll understand when you watch it. Does this mean he's bi? Just curious, I don't really care.

I know this is a long-shot but I'm curious if anyone out there that is on kidney dialysis had a high PTH level before starting the treatments? They would tell you this when they got blood results back. Normal is 150-300, and when I started kidney dialysis, mine was up in the 2000's! I read that it can cause bone pain and weakness. I've been having considerable pain walking and going up and down stairs for almost a year and I have been asking the docs if that could be why but none of them have been able to give me an answer. I recently started dialysis a couple weeks ago so I guess I'll see if the pain and weakness stops when my levels come down, but until then, has anyone else been through this?? I can't find any other reason for the pain in my feet/ankles/knees, and the weakness that accompanies it.

This is interesting to me. Do you think artists were born with the ability to draw great pictures, or do you think they just needed the patience and drive to learn how to draw and become really good artists?

I think some people are born with talent in them to do such things, while others think even if you can't draw a stick figure worth anything, if you have patience you can learn to be an artist.

Say you're walking down a quiet street, suddenly you look up to see about 20-30 people running towards you in a panic! They wont stop to answer your constant questions of "what's wrong?" or "Why are you running?" they just run past, looking scared and you can't stop them.

Would you run too, or keep walking ahead to see what's going on?

Have you ever noticed when someone sees an accident, or something shocking or surprising, their hand goes up to cover their mouths? It seems like it's done more when someone sees something that isn't good, like car wrecks, or hearing someone talk about really bad news...sad things like that.

I've also noticed women do it more than men.

Anyone know why this is?

I saw on TV and read in different places that a person under hypnosis can't be led to do something they wouldn't normally do while "awake", like maybe strip naked and dance or kill someone, ya know.

I've also read in books and different articles that while someone is dreaming, they can't do in a dream what they wouldn't dare do while awake, same as hypnosis, like naked stuff or murder, evil or illegal things mainly.

I've had dreams in my lifetime where I'm trying to shoot people but the bullets just fall..one time I was trying to hit someone for making me mad and my punches had no force behind them, I wasn't hurting the person. Do you think it's true or have I somehow made that happen because of what I've read? I find it interesting.
