What goes well with taco salad?
My birthday is coming up and I'm making a taco salad. I'm having a lot of people over and wondered what, if anything would go well with it. I was thinking cottage cheese, sort of like a side, ya know?
Any other suggestions?
I appreciate your input.
I appreciate the answers. I plan on having salsa in the taco salad actually. I thought cottage cheese as a side dish sounded pretty darn good lol. I didn't mean in it. Maybe taco salad is best served alone?
I was just trying to have a little variety for my birthday party.
Thanks again everyone!

Well, the best thing I think you can do is to create the most delicious fresh salsa ever! I mean out of premium ingredients - NOTHING canned or bottled...don't do that one to your guests. You want this one to shine. So look into so really great salsas. I would recommend you use only authentic Mexican ingredients. This includes any hot sauces that you may use. Try the Hispanic food section and try out some of those original true ingredients for a really authentic taste. In my opinion, you can throw everything but the kitchen sink at a taco salad, but its NOT Mexican unless it has authentic salsa with real Mexican ingredients.

Cottage cheese? Seriously? I actually like cottage cheese with canned pears and cinnamon, but it's hardly anything I'd think goes with a taco salad. I'd do guacamole and homemade salsa with chips. I'd do just about anything, actually, other than cottage cheese.
