Green Bean Casserole?

When making green bean casserole, can you use cream of chicken soup, instead of cream of mushroom? Will it taste good?

    I wouldn't it will be a completely different taste. Cream of mushroom soup is so easy and inexpensive why substitute. Believe me someone will notice and wonder if something is wrong with it and not eat it.

    Of course it will taste good. Any cream based soup will work. A few years ago I switched to cream of onion and top the casserole with French's crispy fried onions and almond slivers. I also brown my butter before I drizzle over the bread crumb topping.

    Sure, if you're using a recipe that uses condensed soup, you can use any flavor that suits your tastes.
