Any atheists/agnostics who like studying religion?
I'm an atheist and I love to study religion, it's history and it's influence. I find it very intriguing.
Ray: Yeah, no. I can't stand the bible. It makes me sick.
Have a nice day!

absolutely! my minor in college was in religious studies. it was one of the best things i ever did - seriously.
i was raised in a christian family...but i always had questions that either no one could answer, or i was told not to keep asking because it was like i was "questioning my faith".
that was my first clue. in college i was able to make my own decisions, and studying other religions was what finally pushed me through the door of logic and reason and let me drop the shackles of religion.
history, and the history of religions is fascinating. i wish all theists had a better understanding. the problem is though...if theists actually studied religion, there wouldn't be any left, LOL.

I'm an ex-Christian, but I still have about 8ft of philosophy and theology on my bookshelves (a small proportion of the total: it's not my obsession)
And yes, being aware of the history and variety of religions is a continuing interest.
And historically religion, irrespective of its objective truth, has been a major influence on the world from culture to war and politics.
Ignore it and there's a massive hole in understanding how the world works.

Yes, I love studying religion. I want to eventually read the Koran, book of Mormon, Torah, etc.
I really can't stand religion but I have this strange desire to study it. I guess to get a better sense of it and learn more about it. But sometimes, I just want a break. That's when I try and avoid it.

I love it. I have studied world history and religions of the world for many, many years. Can't get enough of it. Everything interconnects when you study it all and put it together. You suddenly understand why things are the way they are.

I practice the Four noble Truths, but worship no Gods or submit myself to any imaginary entity, for it will cloud reality
