I took a 4 day trip for work and left 7 month baby with grammy. Was that too long of a separation?

Don't worry you didn't traumatize the baby, it will be ok, it was probably harder on you than him. Personally, I couldn't stand to be away from mine that long, shes 7mths too

7 month old babies do understand who you are and when you leave the room and they are alone yes they cry. 7 month old babies however don't have a concept of absenteism. They know who you are when you are there or you just leave but they don't know who you are when you're not there. Do you work? Do you leave the baby's site? Who watches him/her then? As long as they are comfortable with a care taker there will be no long term emotional scars or anything. When you come back they will recognize you and be happy. I left my 5 month old for a week when my wife and I took our older two sons for a vacation. I think it's okay to go as long as the baby is with someone he/she feels comfortable with.

I just did this to my four month old when i left for cali on vacation and at the airport my mom brought her and i walked away to go to the restroom and she had a melt down. so i felt so bad but she got over very quickly she just wanted mommy for the rest of the day. I wouldnt worry about go on the trip enjoy your break.
