What would be good reasons for continuing to pay for an extended warranty monthly?

I pay for an extended warranty monthly, I could not afford to get it fixed if the tranny or motor went out.....but since its a 2006 not quite at 40000 miles, should i keep paying on it? What would a person need the warranty for?

Update:

WHAT ABOUT THE AIR CONDITIONER...SHOULD I KEEP IT FOR THAT?

Is it out of the general warranty? These things are cash cows for those who sell it. It's a lose--lose situation for you.

I would suggest calling and finding out what your regular warranty covers. I bet that this thing only picks up after the regular warranty leaves off. That means: PAYING NOTHING.

Chances are this extended warranty will expire about the same time the regular warranty will. Stop wasting your money.

    Hey

Yes definetly keep the insurance on the car it doesent matter how far you drive things will go wrong and same with the airconditioner i had 1 for 18 months then it died and had no warranty ended up costin me heaps more than having the monthly warranty trust me it will save you money in the long end.

    Hope this helped

you can expect problems from at least the tranny alone, if you get free maintenance it's worth keeping
