How do we petition the people at Y!A to set up a separate Abortion category?
Does anyone else feel as strongly as I do that the pregnancy section is probably not the best place or people to ask gory abortion questions? I'm actually pro-choice (yes, I went on all the marches and demonstrations when I was a student :) LOL, but these stories are often rather disturbing, sometimes hidden within more general questions, and as we all know, pregnant women are more emotional than other women. So maybe they could spare us the trauma!
Anyone got thoughts on this?

ps: as I already said, sometimes the abortion section is couched WITHIN a more general (or innocent) question heading. Otherwise, I don't click on them if I'm feeling emotional. Of course, there are also the trolls who post fictitious questions online because they have nothing better to do with their miserable lives!
Final update: I followed that helpful link -- thanks She Hulk -- and posted a request on the Suggestions page. Someone else had already asked about the possibility of a "Family Planning" section, which would be great (because for anyone who used to be in the TTC section, it would be great to remove the pill and condom questions from there too :)

technically that's what the "other" category is for on here. But everyone like to make the pregnant women all dramatic so the post it in the pregnancy section. I mostly just ignore the questions and go on with my day

I have asked about making an abortion support board, but the answer team keeps jerking me around, saying they're NOT making any sections at all. I don't know how we would be able to convince them......However, abortion is a part of pregnancy and I think the women in here need to understand that and either NOT answer abortion questions or answer them WITHOUT spouting "abortion is murder" or telling these women lies.

I don't know, maybe...does Y! have a general e-mail that you can send ideas with?? Maybe type up a petition that we need to have a new abortion category and put it in here and have people sign, or like respond to the question then, copy and paste it to word and e-mail it to them?????

Hmm.. I think if you contacted them, like an adviser or someone and told them it would get set up. That's a really great idea too. I am pro-life but I feel like we all want to discuss our pregnancy's not other people wanting to end theirs.
If you figure it out I'm willing to go with you on it!!

I totally agree! Pregnant or not, I don't want to hear about a 16 year old that didn't use protection questioning abortion.

I agree with you too! I don't want to hear about people getting abortions! They are lucky that I can't see them or else I would punch them in the face! LOL!

People have asked before. Abortion is part of pregnancy. If you don't like it or it upsets you, don't click on the question. If that still bothers you, there are many, many pregnancy boards that do not deal with this issue at all. You might try ivillage.com.
