I read this book about 10 years ago. The basic premise, of what I remember, is about a young woman (or teen) feeling her home in India. She comes to the US and nannies for a well off family in San Francisco or similar. Then she ends up marrying a paralyzed war vet. They adopt a teen boy and she also gets pregnant by her husband. In the end she leaves him to run off with the man she nannied for.

Im due today, but i really dont think she's gonna show. Im 3 cms dilated and about 50% effaced. havent had any regular contractions. But i have lots TONS of mucus, since like 37wks. For the past two days the discharge has increased like 5 times. My back is killing me as well. Husband and i have been trying everything. Walking, sex, nipple stimulation, spicy foods, everything. I just wish she would come out today. Think happy thoughts for me yeah? And everyone have a safe 4th in the US

I had my dr's apt yesterday, and im 39wks6days. almost 3 Cm's dilated and about 60% effaced. She did another sweep and since then, ive been having lots of lower abdominal cramping and a lot of bloody mucus-like discharge. Its dark brown looking. Is this my bloody show? Because ive been steadily losing lots of mucus since about 37wks. Im due on Saturday so i hope this means i dont have long to wait. Any advice? And yes, i know, every woman and pregnancy is different. Just a stressed out M2B who's tired of being pregnant.

I just got done taking my evening walk. Now im having some lower back pain, kinda spasming. I dont think its contractions, cos its just constant. But ive also all week been feeling a pulling and burning sensation all across my abdomen and some menstrual like cramps as well. My feet have just started swelling this week too. Can anyone just give me some stories of what it was like for them in the last few days of pregnancy and what you started feeling in early labor? Ive already lost my mucus plug, and im 2cm dilated. I dont see my DR till wednesday, im hoping ive dilated more at least.

Im 39wks tomorrow and this last bit of the pregnancy is just killing me. I have heartburn almost 24/7, my belly button feels like its gonna tear open any minute. It feels like I'm getting ready for my period too, Ive been having low menstrual cramps for a few days now, but my DR isn't worried about them. I'm 2cm dilated and i cant wait for my little girl to come out already!!!! Ive already had 2 sweeps done, and im getting NST's done once a week because i was borderline preeclamptic. Don't really have a question.... Just wanted to rant a bit this morning before i go take my nap. Ugh and Ive been sooo incredibly tired lately. I get up at 7 with my husband and i usually have to take a nap around 11. Any other mommies feel like ranting?

Going in for an NST again today. I went in last friday, and they measured my amniotic fluid and noted that it was a bit low, a 6 i think. So they moved up this weeks NST to today and said that if my levels haven't raised they would most likely induce me. Im 38w4ds and so ready to see my daughter. Just getting kinda nervous because I've heard and seen some friends go through an induced labor, and i can tell it hurts more than natural labor. I will be having the light epidural. I was just wondering what other mommies have gone through with induced labors as opposed to just naturally going into labor. Thanks

I had my first Non stress test today, Im 38wks along with first baby. They said everything looked great, then did an u/s to check my fluid levels. The CNM said my fluid levels were a little low, and Im going back in again on Monday for another NST and fluid check. I was told that if my levels were still low, that i would be staying and having the baby then and there.

Any other Mommies had to deal with this before? I know to take it easy and drink plenty of water, Ive got a huge bottle sitting right in front of me. Just looking for some support. Thanks!!!!

I know each woman goes at her own pace, but my DR is going on Vacay and i really dont want to be delivered by a DR that doesnt know me. Ive already lost mucus plug, and all afternoon ive been out walking around at the mall and other stores, just trying to move things along. I guess what i want to know is, how many mommies out there went into labor after a membrane sweep, and how soon? Im going to try a few things later with hubby, but i just wanted some encouragement. And yes i know,. she will come out when ready... blah blah blah

I never really "showed" much thru out this pregnancy, but now that im close to my due date (im 37 wks) I find myself constantly sitting around at home, with my shirt raised up over my belly. Never out in public mind you, just here at home. I just love watching her move around and feeling where she is sitting and such. Any other mommies do this?

Im 37wks, 1cm dilated, 50% effaced and at -3 station and my Dr stripped my membranes a bit today as well. I also had protein show up in my urine test today, so theyre having me do a 24hr collection. Should i start getting things ready faster? Or is this a normal thing to do when there is protein in the urine? Any mommies had any experience with this? Im also Group strep b +.

I just got my test results back. I tested positive. Any mommies that have tested +, what were your experiences. What did they do when you went into labor? I know they give you antibiotics and such... but, i'd really like your personal experiences.

Im just about 35wks and after having some vigorous moments with hubby last nite, ive noticed a few things today... sorry for the TMI. Twice today ive noticed some very faint spotting on the TP after going pee, also i had a huge glob of almost yellowish/green mucus. Also have been having lower back and abdominal cramping off and on all day with no particular pattern. My next OB isn't until June 5th. Anyone know whats going on? Is this normal? Thanks.

Side note, my left leg has been killing me from the Knee down... don't know if that can be connected or not.

OK so, long story, I had gotten my first cat as a kitten, along with his brother. They were raised together, but had to be separated a few months ago when we moved out of our apartment and the roommate kept my cats brother.

I just got a new Cat around the same age last night to try and ease the loneliness in my first cat, because we do have to go away sometimes for a few days and i hate leaving him all alone. Right now they both hiss at each other but no swiping or fighting. What is a good way to get the two of them to get along better? Just time? Thanks

I just got my results back online... my test results for the glucose 1hr thing. It was 87. Does anyone know what that means.... its too late to contact my DR tonight and im just curious. Thanks

So for the past few weeks my Intimate relations with hubby have taken a drastic turn. Honestly since ive gotten pregnant it hasn't been as much as i would enjoy it to be...

My hubby's excuse is that he doesn't want to "hurt the baby" which ive tried telling him is a bunch of crap. But ofcourse he heard from work friends that its "bad for her and the baby" Even tho our OB told us BOTH that its fine to have sex. Well the other nite we finally discussed it all and i told him i would really enjoy it if we had sex a little more often. He finally told me that he just couldn't because he was so scared he was gonna poke the baby and that it actually made him have to fake a climax a time or two with me before. That really hurt me.

He's also afraid of hurting me as well because ive been getting bigger and positions are more difficult now. Anyways... i guess im just frustrated and wanted to know if anyone had any advice.... I miss the Intimate moments with him....

Have any mommies had to have a vacuum or forceps assisted delivery? Im scared to death of having to have this be done during my Delivery. Tho i doubt it will happen. Im 31wks and baby isnt measuring super big or anything. Any stories would be great or articles on this.

Im 30wks 4days and lately... when I'm standing up or sitting, i feel her stepping or pushing way down low and i get this kind of sharp pressure. Is she stepping on my Cervix? or what... it doesnt hurt its just .... the oddest thing EVER! lol.

I keep seeing ads for working from home with Google and earning around 5k a month. Are these things for real? I cant find any info on them and im really interested in working from home as i have a child due in two months. Can anyone give me any info? Thanks

i have been so miserable for the past few days. My sinuses have just been congested to the max and ive done everything i can think of to do that wont harm the baby. Taken hot showers and breathed in steam, drinking plenty of fluids.... all that good stuff. Any one have any ideas... im desperate and havent slept much cos its difficult to breathe. I cant take the saline drops cos they make me gag and they burn my sensitive nasal passages. Im at my wits end!!!!
