so miserable... 29 wks and sick?
i have been so miserable for the past few days. My sinuses have just been congested to the max and ive done everything i can think of to do that wont harm the baby. Taken hot showers and breathed in steam, drinking plenty of fluids.... all that good stuff. Any one have any ideas... im desperate and havent slept much cos its difficult to breathe. I cant take the saline drops cos they make me gag and they burn my sensitive nasal passages. Im at my wits end!!!!

those Vick's Shower Soothers are AWESOME.
Also, try saline but warm it up first!! If you tilt your head forward, it'll help it drain back out of your nose, instead of down your throat. Saline sprays are irritating cold (to me, anyway), but are MUCH more acceptable warm.
You can also try the neti-pot route, or if you don't like the kind of passive flow of the neti-pot, you can use a 3-oz ear syringe (those big blue squeeze-bulbs) and shoot water into your nose that way. It tickles, but GOD does it help!!
DO NOT USE REGULAR WATER, if you're gonna put some solution up your nose you MUST use some saline!! Regular water will hurt and make your sinuses swell WORSE! If anything, mix your own and use extra saline, that will shrink the tissue down.

sorry to say but sinus problems in pregnancy is pretty normal, try burning eucalyptus or pouring some on a tissue and sniffing it putting some into a hot water bucket put a Towel over your head and breathe that in. all else fails go to the chemist and ask for tips

Have you tried eucalyptus oil in the steam? I got an olbas oil stick which helped alot with my sinus problem, you can take Sudafed headache and congestion too, that's the only Sudafed you can take and it works wonders.

I'm having the same problems. I'm going to talk to my doctor today to make sure, but I've heard that sudafed, or Robitusim are safe. I just want to make sure.

I've been having a problem like that, but mine is mainly at night. My doctor told me Claritin is ok to take. Check with your doctor because yours may not like it (I wish all doctors would always think the same thing about every medication), but mine said that was fine.
