39wks... is it almost over yet?

I just got done taking my evening walk. Now im having some lower back pain, kinda spasming. I dont think its contractions, cos its just constant. But ive also all week been feeling a pulling and burning sensation all across my abdomen and some menstrual like cramps as well. My feet have just started swelling this week too. Can anyone just give me some stories of what it was like for them in the last few days of pregnancy and what you started feeling in early labor? Ive already lost my mucus plug, and im 2cm dilated. I dont see my DR till wednesday, im hoping ive dilated more at least.

well i got to 38 weeks and my water broke. I had had no contractions at all. We calmly went to our hospital and they got me in a bed to "monitor" me. That was about 11pm. I slept till about 5am and i got the lower back back that was constant. My upper and lower abdomon started getting harder too. It sortof felt like a slight burning sensation, as if you've pulled your lips way too tight and they're about to crack, but don't. I had dialated to 3 by that time, and within the next 3 hours dialated to 4. But that's where it stopped. I went the rest of the day and evening and didn't dialate at all anymore, so they sent me home that night and 6 days later, i started having contractions...where my lower back pain was (it had never left the whole time), it just got to be in waves instead of a constant feeling. It would get very painful and then back off, not going away though. I then went to the doctor around 9am and about 5 1/2 hours later, i gave birth to my son. Hope this helps a little bit. Be on the lookout for ANY waves in your lower back pain and any leakage that you think "I guess i just peed in the bed". I know it's going to sound gross, but if you "wet" the bed, before you do anything, lean over and smell it. If it DOESN'T SMELL LIKE REALLY STRON PEE, THEN YOUR WATER JUST BROKE!!! Like i said, i hope this help! Good luck!

you could always call labor and delivery and ask them about the back pain... it could be back labor- i'm not exactly sure what that feels like, i just heard that it is painful. but you do sound like you are on your way.. i started to lose my mucus plug on a thursday, and throughout the days following and my water broke the following wednesday.. i didn't feel any contractions or anything until my water broke, then my contractions were about two minutes apart until my daughter was born 7 hours later. good luck!!

in my first pregnancy i got swollen ankles a week before i started to dilate. When i was almost 2 cm dilated at my weekly doctor visit, the doctor had me go to the hospital and then the next day they induced my labor. I had my son that evening.
