How should America react to the Iranian election?

This is a non partisan question here. Should we publicly support the Iranians or should we keep quiet and let the Iranians deal with this themselves?

Update:

LOLUMAD - why are you being nasty here? Just a simple question. Right now, you are about a 10. Try toning it down to about a 3.

PS- Yes. You are.

Update 2:

HOSSEIN- Ummmm..... thank you for the brief biography on your life. I can appreciate your employment as well as your education level. If you could be so kind as to be a little more concise with your answer? Thanks. Appreciate it.

Update 3:

LOLUMAD - Thank you for proving my point.

I think we ought to keep quiet. If we interfere too much pretty soon they will be using that ammunition for their "US interventionist" propaganda. The Iranians hate their government more than we do, so sooner enough they will take down Ahmdinejad. If you thought about it the more this plays out, the weaker Ahmdinjad appears and the weaker he is, the less influence he has. No one would take an 'elected' leader seriously when there's no support from his people

We need to butt out of it. They are the ones that have to deal with their government.

How would we have felt if another country got involved with our election process? What if other countries refused to acknowledge Bush or Obama because they thought the election wasn't valid?

I personally think Bush stole his elections, but that is not something any other country has a right to get involved in. Others think Obama isn't a citizen ... and i'll bet they would not want outsiders to butt into that either.

I am DISGUSTED with such hatred torwards the middle east. I am going to do whatever I can to help these poor souls.

Why, when I was a little boy, I had to wake up at 4 am to do the chores, cook breakfast for my 9 sisters, you name it. I was a hard working little kid, and all of that dedication made me the man who I am today.

I remember about a week ago when I turned on Fox News and sipped my moca latte, I cried. Such hatred and violence within my people. We all need to learn to get along and bond. I am going to everything I can to help. Put yourself in their shoes?

Sit back and watch the show, when the dust settles, and the revolution is successful, then we lend a hand in the rebuilding of a democracy. Just as long as we advise from afar. No boots on the ground.

If by publicly support the Iranians, you mean side with the losers of the election, no way. That would allow the regime to paint the losers as American puppets or as anti-Iran.

    Steer clear of this.

both, our govt. can say nothing, but public opinion of their community and the world is way powerful but we did have influence on this and hopefully we can end decades of wasted energy to a mid line threat.

let's follow the constitution and let the president handle foreign policy.

if a conservative like Pat Buchanan and a liberal like President Obama are in agreement on how to deal with Iran, we MUST be on the right track.

edit: for those who gave me thumbs down... you do realize that Obama's position has been "we support the people of Iran and their voices should be heard" ???

he's very carefully NOT taking sides by naming one over the other, in effect, we've butted out but stand ready to "extend a hand in friendship".

For once, we should mind our own business and let the Iranians solve their own problems.
