I have a pain that starts from the my upper back and goes to my chest?

The pain was initially in my upper back, but I cant locate the exact location. The pain also comes out from my chest.

When I take deep breaths it hurts more, I have difficulty moving my neck in certain directions,

I dont think I've had a recent injury.

I feel some comfort when I put a heating pad on my back.

What could it be?

Thanks!

it probabily is that u slept in a bad position or u have been carrying heavy things. i suggest that you use a certain oitment and let someone massage ur back. also eat right. boil some water , then put a small towel in the water and pit it on the hurting spots and press it down. also get lots of sleep and drink tylenol or advil.

If your neck is stiff, you're having back pain and further pain during deep breaths it really sounds as if you have a rib out in your back. I've done this twice. Once when I injured myself and 10 years later I did it again but have no recollection of doing anything in particular to cause it. One painless trip to the chiropractor can solve that. If you're insurance doesn't cover chiropractic care then speak with the office to negotiate a rate. My insurance covers the initial x-rays but the exam applies towards my deductible. Cheaper to pay the discounted rate the chiropractor offers than to utilize my contracted rate with the insurance company!

Sounds like cervical spondylosis. See a doctor and get an X-ray done. Besides heat treatment, physiotherapy may also help. Good luck!
