What do Jehovah's Witnesses say about the Beast of Revelation, does it include Islam or is it just Christendom?

I know they used to say the Beast of Revelation symbolised Christendom. I know they still say they alone are the only true religion. But I have never read anything about how they view Islam. Are they frightened to include Islam as part of 'false religion'? Does anyone have any recent quotations from their literature where Islam is specifically mentioned?

Update:

Oh, silly me - of course I meant the Harlot who rides on the back of the Beast. Now, any quotations from your literature that actually mention Islam?

Update 2:

My thanks to Islamservant for his fulsome answer, explaining your faith. Like Jehovah's Witnesses, Muslims worship God alone, deny that Jesus is God or that God is a trinity. I appreciate the links you gave, especially the one about misconceptions people have and the merits of Islam.

Update 3:

More than one J.W. has claimed they do not judge others - it is up to God to do the judging. That is laudible. But it's not true. Society literature constantly condemns other religions, and even recently. Remember that worldwide message, The End of False Religion is Near? Please be honest - Jehovah's Witnesses brand and condemn every religion on the planet as being part of false religion, including Islam. So why pretend you don't?

I wasn't going to answer this, until I read all the answers given. No JW has admitted to the fact that they used to lambaste Islam in their literature. Just read "What Has Religion Done For Mankind" chapter 22 'Islam, Mohammed's Religion of Submission' (published in 1951). It concludes that Mohammed did not express the 'spirit of the truth', that no angel Gabriel sent Mohammed a message from God, that Islam teaches "Babylonish false doctrine, the foundation of which was laid by Satan the Devil", and that "Islam has no message to offer distressed humanity regarding God's kingdom of the Seed of his woman..."

What about more recently? In 1984 the book "Survival into a New Earth" contained the chapter 'Flee out of the Midst of Babylon' where it identifies "all religions that advocate attitudes, beliefs or practices that have their roots in the religion of ancient Babylon". In the next chapter, 'Identified for Destruction or Survival?' it states that 'the faithful and discreet slave class is doing that marking work today' - marking those for survival. But only Christendom is mentioned as that which people must come out of in order to be saved! Not a word about any other religion!

And what about 9/11? Did the Watchtower Society say anything about this terorrist attack, let alone have the word 'Islam' included?

Then we come to islamser's answer - a Muslim - and he writes as if JWs believe the Trinity doctrine! Well, this is strange, because JWs have more in common with Islam than they do with Christendom. JWs loathe the Trinity doctrine with as much hatred as do the Muslims! Indeed, both parties arguments against the Trinity sound almost identical. Who filched what from whom, I wonder? Was that why JW Myro copied a JW tract designed to be read by Muslims? That tract shows they are agreed about disbelieving the Trinity, but not a word of criticism is given against Islam. The JWs dare not say anything in print about leaving Islam. Yet Christendom is clearly a soft target!

I might be wrong, but I get the impression that the Watchtower Society is frightened of Islam and that's why it never publicly criticises it now. Without doubt, they teach that Islam is included in Babylon the Great - that has not changed - it just isn't stated in writing anywhere nowadays. Oh, and debbie jumps from the claim that the Asker "is not in sympathy with us" to be absurd conclusion that the Asker is trying to "destroy" JWs. Since when was asking a sensible question about JW beliefs an attempt to destroy them?

Jehovah's Witnesses are not in the habit of judging. That task is not ours. Jehovah God is the ultimate Judge. Therefore, you won't find any recent quotations where we have singled out any religion as being part of Babylon the Great.

Notice I didn't say the Beast of Revelation. That is because there is a difference between the "the Wild Beast" and "Babylon the Great" both mentioned in Revelation.

Babylon the Great is representive of the World Empire of False Religion, whereas the Wild Beast represents the World Powers --- political rulers of this world.

I have never seen any information about any other religion except for putting them all in one basket and saying they are false religion.

I do remember reading a very moving story about a group of muslims who became Jehovah's witnesses.

I was also shocked by the amount of people who are Arab's and Jews and from the middle east who are now Witnesses and non violent.

They call each other brother and wish no harm to anyone.

I thought of that group of people as always war like but the article brought out their were many in that area and in that religion who were peaceful and kind.

Athesists should love that religion because it preaches that one day all religion will be gone from the earth. From reading this web site it sounds not to far off.

Yes, Babylon the Great is the harlot which is false religion

According to Revelation 18:24, Jehovah God holds the Harlot (false religion) directly responsible for all of the deaths that have occurred in warfare.

Nowhere in the CD does it ever directly label Islam as "Babylon". Christendom is the Only One religion directly labelled, but in other places it mentioned Islam as one of the false religions but never directly labelled Islam as "Babylon" like they falsely labelled Christendom directly as such.

I am a True Jehovah's Witness, a Witness of YHWH, the Holy Trinity who is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and the Three are One. Beware the false witnesses who are in the Watchtower Organization!

Although Question it All would like others to believe that if Jehovah's Witnesses state they are "in the truth" - that it is an incorrect statement, what about -

Please pay attention to the use of the word TRUTH in the following verses -

    2nd Corinthians 13:8

    Ephesians 6:4

    1st Timothy 2:7

    1st Timothy 3:15

    Hebrews 10:26

    2nd Peter 1:12

    AND particularly 2nd Peter 2:2 -

"the way of the truth will be spoken of abusively"

Yes, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life..

But the Way of life is also spoken of as the Truth.

The rest of the New Testament needs to be read and studied past the gospel accounts to get the full meaning of "the Truth".

Beasts symbolize governments. Babylon the Great, the harlot, symbolizes false religion as a whole, including Islam. Babylon the Great will be destroyed along with all its supporters. Get out of Babylon the Great and serve the true God Jehovah if you don't want to be destroyed with it.

The beast of Revelation is the governments in Daniel 2:44 it shows the destruction of this beast.

The harlot is the relationship of religion to the governments.

Revelation 17:17 and 18 shows this city over the kings of the earth so it could not be the kings of the earth.

Commercialism is standing at a distance so it isn't greedy commercialism.

This Babylon the Great, the mother of the harlots is all false religion.

Christian, Jew, Islam, tribal religions and its power over the governments.

soon now the governments will turn on religion, each one to its own religion what ever it maybe. They will destroy it and in fact they will destroy all religion off the earth.

It a earth wide endeavor which is called "The Great Tribulation"

Rev.17:17 says in order to make peace in the earth they decide religion has to go. God will put it in their hearts to make this decision.

The beast is world governments in Revelation.

Babylon the Great is the world empire of false religion as the Bible reveals it. Our literature normally focuses on christendom as it mimics Christianity.

(Revelation 8:7) And the first one blew his trumpet. And there occurred a hail and fire mingled with blood, and it was hurled to the earth; and a third of the earth was burned up

Third of the earth who belong in christendom claim to be faithful Christian. But the scriptures read in 2 Corinthians 4:4 that Satan has blinded the minds of the entire inhabited earth. Would that be so if the third of the human population are not part of Babylon the Great which is Satan's religious organisation?

My fellow brothers and sisters have given great Scriptural answers regarding the harlot who rides the back of the wild beast (Babylon the Great) as opposed to the WIld Beast itself (the political governments).

On the subject of Islam, we have NUMEROUS articles, tracts, brochures... etc on Islam in light of the Scriptural truth of the Bible. "How to Find the Road to Paradise" is a fantastic brochure specifically designed for those of tyhe Muslim faith to come to a better understanding of Almighty Jehovah God's holy Word the Bible.

I shall quote you what it says:

" How to Find the Road to Paradise

Where Will the Promised Paradise Be?

We read in surah 21, Al-Anbiya’ (The Prophets), verse 105: “We wrote in the Psalms after the Torah had been given: ‘The righteous among My servants shall inherit the earth.’”

Compare surah 39, Al-Zumar, (The Hordes), verses 73 and 74.

Yes, centuries before, Psalm (Zebur) 37:29 revealed that the promised Paradise would be on earth. It reads: “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.”

    LIFE IN PARADISE

The Holy Scriptures go even further, describing what life will be like in Paradise.

◆ Man and beast will live in peace: “And the wolf will actually reside . . . with the male lamb, and with the kid the leopard itself will lie down, . . . and a mere little boy will be leader over them.”—Isaiah 11:6; compare Isaiah 65:25.

◆ No more wars and violence: “And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore.”—Isaiah 2:4; compare Psalm 46:9.

◆ The human family will be united in love: “He that does not love has not come to know God, because God is love.”—1 John 4:8.

◆ Ample food and homes for all: “And they will certainly build houses and have occupancy; . . . they will not plant and someone else do the eating.”—Isaiah 65:21, 22; compare Psalm 67:6; 145:16.

◆ No more sickness and death: “He [God] will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.”—Revelation 21:4.

◆ The resurrection of the dead: “The hour is coming in which all those in the . . . tombs will hear his voice and come out.”—John 5:28, 29.

HAS NOT THE HOLY BIBLE BEEN TAMPERED WITH?

Almighty God could by no means allow such a thing.

The Qur’ān declares: “None can change the decrees of Allah.”—Surah 6, Al-An‛am (Cattle), verse 34.

The Holy Bible makes a similar declaration as follows: “The green grass has dried up, the blossom has withered; but as for the word of our God, it will last to time indefinite.”—Isaiah 40:8.

Some have tried to falsify God’s Word, but they did not succeed. For instance, in John’s first letter, chapter 5, verse 7, the following words were at one time added: “In heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”—King James Version.

These words do not appear in any of the ancient Bible manuscripts but were added later in order to support the false Trinity doctrine. Scholars, however, know that such words are counterfeit, and modern Bible translations omit them.

Many Bible manuscripts that are four or five centuries older than the Qur’ān can be seen in museums today. When our present-day Bible is compared with such old manuscripts, it becomes quite clear that the text we have today is the same as that which God inspired his ancient servants to write.

Compare surah 10, Yunis (Jonah), verse 94: “If you doubt what We have revealed to you, ask those who have read the Scriptures before you.”

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE HOLY BIBLE

◆ God is the only true God, the Almighty, who has no equal.—Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 44:6.

◆ The idea that God married a woman in order to have sons is unthinkable.—Psalm 36:9; Job 38:7; Luke 3:38; Genesis 2:7.

◆ The Holy Bible strongly condemns worship of any person or object (including idols and carved images). God alone must be worshiped.—Matthew 4:10; Leviticus 26:1; Psalm 115:4-8.

◆ God is Lord of all mankind, and his Word was written for all humans, both men and women.—Genesis 22:18; 1 Timothy 2:4; Ephesians 5:33.

◆ Entry into God’s promised Paradise does not depend on birth, nationality, or the religion our parents gave us.—Acts 10:34, 35; Revelation 7:9, 10.

◆ The Holy Bible appeals to reason and rises up against ignorance.—Proverbs 2:3-6; Psalm 119:33, 34.

WE ARE ON THE POINT OF ENTERING GOD’S PARADISE—HOW DO WE KNOW?

Only God knows the future, and in his Word he foretold certain events that would be a sign that Paradise was at hand.

Here are just a few of the events he mentioned:

    ◆ Wars, earthquakes, pestilences, and famines.—Luke 21:10, 11.

    ◆ Lawlessness.—Matthew 24:12.

◆ Selfishness, disobedience to parents, religious hypocrisy.

    —2 Timothy 3:1-5.

Do you see these prophecies being fulfilled today?

WHAT MUST WE DO IF WE WANT TO LIVE IN GOD’S PARADISE?

We must come to know the truths of God’s Word, for this accurate knowledge is compared to hidden treasures.—Proverbs 2:4.

We must also put into practice what we learn, as the Creator ordains: “This is the way. Walk in it, you people.”—Isaiah 30:21.

We would be happy to come back and discuss the Holy Bible with you, using a 32-page brochure entitled Enjoy Life on Earth Forever! "

    EDIT

"Question It All" is absolutely wrong. What we teach is that the Beast of Revelation (the one which ascends out of the "sea" at Revelation 13:1b, 2) is the political powers of the earth. However, the Scarlet Colored wild beast at Revelation 17:3 is the United Nations (formerly the League of Nations), it's the IMAGE of the wild beast which came out of the "sea" at Revelation 13:1b, 2.

ONLY God's true people are GRANTED the ability to understand the book of Revelation and it's fantastic meanings of symbolic language... it is meant for them and them ONLY (Revelation 1:1).
