NO! Only clean the barrel with JB paste or dry patches. Never use oil. Place 1 drop of oil down the compression chamber every 2-4000 shots. Lubricate hinges and the spring (7drops along the length of the spring) with RWS spring cylinder oil every 2000shots. Never use WD-anything on an airgun of any type, it will eat the seals and cause detonations. Use an anti-rust type thing for the outside finish.

I would suggest using a good gun oil. You can buy patches to run through the barrel, but I usually use an old t-shirt cut into strips for an airgun. WD would probably be okay for an airgun, but in a firearm that uses powder the oil may gunk up from the impurities powder leaves behind..

hum...I'm sure there is some way of doing it, especially on the high dollar hunting models. But the thought has never crossed my mind. My Benjamin is just over 20yrs old and never been cleaned. I did actually old it about 15 years ago if that helps. Hopefully someone will chime in with some more info. If not I would just apply oil according to the manual and not worry about it.

"kevin" gave you the straight scoop.

Never-ever use any petroleum based product in the barrel or compression chamber of a spring piston air rifle. This can cause your rifle to diesel.

A silicone based lubricant is required, and then only for contact points or moving parts(pivot pins, compression chamber/mainspring, etc)

    For cleaning the barrel.
