How do you sleep at night? I'm very worried about sleeping positions and baby?

I've been having difficulty sleeping now that I'm getting bigger by the week. I'm very worried that I might be hurting the baby while I'm sleeping due to my positions. I usually lay on my left or right side but occasionally I wake up and find myself slightly laying on my belly. Could this be hurting my baby at all. Also it seems like lately when I wake up my ribs are painful? What's going on? Anyone else experiencing this! What helps you sleep at night? Any suggestions would help!

My Dr told me that I could sleep on my tummy for as long as it was comfortable for me. The reason side sleeping is best is because you get the most circulation that way. On the back, you are putting all your weight on a main artery and it can cut off blood flow to the baby, which is obviously bad. But tummy sleeping is not bad, your baby is protected in there and your body would tell you if something was wrong with laying that way before anything bad would happen :)

The doctors all advise sleeping on your left side for improved bloodflow. If you are sleeping slightly on your belly don't worry, your baby is totally protected by the cushion of amniotic fluid. Your ribs are probably painful due to the increased pressure from your growing baby, not fun-I've been there. What helped me sleep was putting a pillow either between my legs while lying on my side or partially under my growing belly. Hope you get some rest hun!!

Sleeping on you left side is recommended because that increases the blood flow for the baby. Sleeping on your stomach is fine as long as you are comfortable. I slept on my stomach all the time during my third pregnancy (only way I was comfortable) and I had a healthy 8lb 6oz boy. Your body will tell you if something wrong before any harm is done. Body pillows help also. Good Luck. and congrats.

I would try to sleep on my side but if u cant help it and u wake up and find yourself sleeping almost on ur belly then there is nothing u can do. I can suggest for u to get a body pillow and put it between ur legs to avoid moving.

When I was pregnant I would have a fortress of pillows just to get comfy. Perhaps you should try one of those body pillows. The pain in your ribs could be the baby pushing against them.

sleeping on ur side iv found is rly the only way u can sleep once u get big lol. u shldnt sleep on ur back because it cuts off circulation and will make u wicked dizzy when u get up.and for obv reasons layin on ur tummy just doesnt work. i sleep on either side and always find myself slightly on my tummy, but its fine ur not hurting ur baby, he/she will jus slide over alittle bit.=] good luckk
