He is a shadow of Jesus Christ in the Bible. He is representative of Him in several ways. Abraham honored Him and gave Him a tithe, Melchizedek was a priest as Jesus is. Melchizedek was likely an early appearance of Jesus before His time on earth.

He is one of the most intriguing figures in the Bible to me as well, I have read positions that liken Melchizedek to other predispositions figures such as the suffering servant of Isiah. The truth is we know that he was prominent and that he offered bread and wine as sacrifice. The wonder of our God is His ability to take generations and generations to teach us how to accept His love and to create any person, event, or scenario to get the message across to us. Peace B

All I know about the guy was that he was a Priest during Abraham's days. Moses and Aaron were some 600 years after Abraham. I had to run his name in the Bible.com web site it only comes up in the book of Hebrews. I am sorry I really don't know much about him but you have ignited and interest in me to find out.
