Black car owners -- how long after a wash does it stay looking nice?

I have had a black Mercury Mystique for 9 years. I would say that it will look new for many weeks...obviously if you avoid gravel roads and such. Always remember to use the wax spray at a car wash to help the cars finish to last.

I have a black 2005 Honda Accord coupe, and it looks nice for maybe 5 minutes after i wash it. The first time someone touches it you can see the fingerprints from a mile away, the dirt shows up more than on any other color.

I also live in Maine where we deal with tons of sand and salt on the roads in the winter and that makes it even worse.

Black is my favorite color for a car, and when its clean it looks the best, but I will admit, it is very, very hard to keep clean.

i have a jet black 2000 neon with the srt 4 conversion and after a car wash it looks great for the first 30 seconds after a carwask...its really dusty where i live

it's dusty before you even back it out of the garage after a wash, go with silver unless you enjoy cleaning your car all the time.

I had a black 944 in California, and i'm not sure if it was the 30 seconds Johnny mentioned. IMHO, do not get a black car.

And they get frikkin' hot in the summer, or anytime the sun is out.

get the silver 1. i owned black cars before and i can tell you they collect dust like you won,t believe and they are hotter too inside.

just depends on where you live and where you drive but black will definately start to show sooner than the silver.

never get your car washed next to a construction site in summer. Doe not matter if it is free because your car will look dirtier than when you came in.
