General Chemistry Unit Conversion Homework Help!?

These are the questions i have for my gen chen, and i would really appreciate it if someone would answer this. thanks in advance!

1. one of the body's responses to an infection or injury is to elevate it's temperature. A certain flu victim has a body temperature of 101F. What is this temperature on the absolute temperature scale?

2. The normal sodium level in urine is 35mg/dl. Urine collected from a patient throughout a day contained a total of 4.3 grams of sodium. How many liters of urine were collected?

3. Commercially available aspirin tablets for children contain 1.25 grains of aspirin per tablet. over a period of 12 hours, a child is given 6 tables. How many grains of aspirin have been administered?

4. A diabetic patient is found to have a blood glucose level of 130 mg/dl. Assume that the patient's body contains 6.0 quarts of blood. How many grams of glucose is present in the patient's blood?

    1) First convert the Fahrenheit value to a Celsius value, using this conversion equation...

    C = (5/9) (F-32)

    C = (5/9) (101-32)

    C = (5/9) (69) = 345/9 = 38.33 degrees C

    Now convert from Celsius to Kelvin (absolute) temperature scale, using this conversion equation...

    K = C + 273

    K = 38.33 + 273 = 311.33 K

    2)

    We have 35 mg/ 1 dl, and we know that

    1000 mg = 1g

    10 dl = 1 L

    So we can first take "35 mg/dl" and turn it into grams:

    (35 mg/dl) * (1 g/1000 mg) = 0.035 g/dl

    Now we can convert from deciliters to liters:

    (0.035 g/dl) * (10 dl/1 L) = 0.35 g/L

    We set up a ratio to find out how many L we need to get 4.3 grams:

    (0.35 g/ 1 L) = (4.3 g/ x L)

    0.35x = 4.3

    x = 12.29 L

    We have:

    12 grains/ 1 tablet

    And we know that a child has been given 6 tablets, so we just set up a ratio...

    (12 grains / 1 tablet) = (x grains/ 6 tablets)

    x = 72 grains

    4)

    The blood glucose level is given at 130 mg/dl.

    We know that:

    1 Quart = .95 Liters

    10 dl = 1 Liter

    Let's first convert the "130 mg/dl" to "mg/L"...

    (130 mg/dl) * (10 dl/1 L) = 1300 mg/L

    And we know that the person has 6 quarts of blood, so let's go from quarts to liters...

    (6 qts) * (.95 L/ 1 qt) = 5.7 L

    We need to know how many grams there are, so let's set up a ratio...

    x mg / 5.7 L = 1300 mg/ 1L

    x = (5.7)(1300) = 7410 mg

    Now convert the mg to grams...

    (7410 mg) * (1 g/ 1000 mg) = 7.41 g

    SI or metric is beautiful in that everything is a power of ten. So, you need to memorize the prefixes, which tell you what power of ten the units are. kilo = 1000 hecto = 100 deca = 10 units = 1 (meters or seconds or grams) deci = 1/10 centi = 1/100 milli = 1/1000 For mm^2, you're talking (1/1000)^2 times m^2 Basically, you move the decimal point left or right depending on the prefix.
