Should I wear dress pants or jeans to this internship?

I want to make a good impression at this summer internship, but everyone else, including my supervisor, wears jeans. I was thinking if I wear dress pants I might be viewed as more competent.

Always a good thing to be slightly over dressed then under dressed. Wear them on the first day and then you can always dress down after that.

I think it is always good to make a good first impression and jeans can be viewed as to casual. Better to get a feel for the job before dressing down.

Its always better to be overdressed than underdressed, but on the other hand its a better idea to just dress like your boss. If your supervisor wears jeans, you should too. You want to fit in. If you wear dress pants when you already know everyone else wears jeans, they may not see you as competant but as trying to show them up, or as the odd man out. Stand out for your work, not for your dress.

Try dressing up a pair of jeans with a nice top and shoes. That way your not too dressed up, but you still look like your putting in some effort.

    Good Luck.

first day wear the dress pants. If everyone else is wearing jeans then the second day and thereafter wear the jeans too. You don't want to be seen as non-compliant. Make sure though that you listen to the grapevine as if they change and dress up for a day you don't want to still be wearing the jeans.

Depending on the job jeans are acceptable in the workplace. Make sure the jean fit well; not to tight or not to loose. Make sure the jeans are of a Darker Wash/Color. Go to a store like Ann Taylor or Banana Republic. Both store sell career wear and have Jeans.

If it is a job where you will be getting dirty (working outside, construction, etc), I think the jeans will be ok. But in any other situation, wear slacks. It looks better. At least in the beginning, until you are more comfortable with the job and what is expected of you. Try to make an impression.

there is extra that is going on a resume than only paintings adventure. Your touch records, training, a short description of what you do/did at each and every/the single and basically interest, pursuits, hobbies, and infrequently your occupation objective. As for gown, very wonderful denims, or some trousers, and a button up shirt paintings precise as dressy casual. shows you're neat and care approximately your appearence. i does no longer pass in shipment shorts and a kind tee from the place you paintings.
