Simplifying
-7 + -0.75x = 14
Solving
-7 + -0.75x = 14
Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right.
Add '7' to each side of the equation.
-7 + 7 + -0.75x = 14 + 7
Combine like terms: -7 + 7 = 0
0 + -0.75x = 14 + 7
-0.75x = 14 + 7
Combine like terms: 14 + 7 = 21
-0.75x = 21
Divide each side by '-0.75'.
x = -28
Simplifying
x = -28

First, get all the numbers without variables on the same side of the equation.
-7 - 3/4x = 14
You need to get rid of the seven, so if you add 7 to both sides, you can take care of it
7 + (-7) - 3/4x = 7 + 14
-3/4x = 21
Now, you have to get rid of the 3/4 in front of 3/4x. If we divide -3/4 by -3/4, we'll get 1. So, divide both sides by -3/4
-3/4x 21
over = over
-3/4 -3/4
and you can do the rest!
