Has anyone had this problem with the banzai skim board surfer?

or maybe our grass just sucks there? We put it up for the kids one day around 2:00. The kids played in it for a while, then got bored (as usual). The next morning before my husband left for work, he picked it up. OMG! well, did I ever get a "what for"! When he pulled the thing up, it took all the freaking grass with it! I mean like a big long muddy hole. Like, we have to put more dirt down AND sod!

For those of you who don't know what the skim board surfer is, its like a slip 'n slide, only bigger. And it holds enough water in it for the kids to "try" and skim board. I just cant believe that little bit of time did THAT much damage to the grass.
