Can you help with correctly linking uploaded docs/spreadsheets to my Comcast personal Web site?

I am setting it up correctly, but when I log out and go in as a visitor and click the link that should open the doc., it says Sorry The Page You Were Looking For Could Not Be Found. Check that the URL you have typed and retry. I have spent too many hours with online support from Comcast. I am uploading the files with no problem. I have used the Insert Hyperlink to link the file to the word on the web page. I even checked in the HTML format to make sure I am setting it up right. I made the file public, I have no prob. with inserting pics, don't know why I would have probs with MS docs and spreadsheets. Any ideas?
