Political Parties: Good or Bad?

In my opinion, i think that political parties just ruin our country and state governments. Here in NY, the state senate is in an approar just becuase athey cant decide to put a democrate or a republican as senate majority leader. Theyre supposed to be there to resolve problems and make decisions. Do ppl agree with me? theyre ridiculas. Be in a government to help your country/state, and the ppl apart of it, not just listening to what your party wants, and you cant listen to the other side.

We should be happy that we dont have a system dominated by one party. Then it will be nearly impossible to maintain democracy. THis is what happened in Nazi Germany and most other facist countries.

I don't have a problem with the parties as much I do with people who seem to have no good reason to be on one side or the other. Things like "My parents were such and such, and so am I".

Another thing that also frost my cake, is that folks seem to have more loyalty to what ever party, instead of the country or their fellow Americans.

What would you rather government be run through?

I favor democratic practices myself, so political parties are natural.

If you have a group of people who believe certain practices are the right direction, they will form a bloc and vote to get as much of their goals in as possible.

    Simple as that.

50-60 years ago they both accomplished much.

    Examples

    Eisenhower-formation of NASA,Interstate Highway System

Truman-ending World War II in the Pacific, practically the only person in Washington willing to recognize Israel, the rest just gave in.

    Today:Both are equally worthless.

One party seems to spend more time undoing what the other party did or didn't do, good or bad, and nothing major gets done.

The system has been so corrupted. All they want to do is fight with each other. No one has the gonads anymore to stand up for what they really believe, or for what their constituents want.
