need help with audio drivers?

Question

I have a inspiron 1501 dell laptop. It crashed not to long ago because of viruses. When i first got the computer it had vista so we changed it to windows xp the audio drivers worked fine but this time my dad formatted the harddrive and i cant get the audio driver to work i get the same 2 errors all the time it tells me to reboot the system so i do then it says file not found or something like that so any help would be great.:)

and i cant seem to be able to connect my mouse for it when i plug it in it goes to the hardware wizard and it will not work.

so any help for any of these problems would be great

Go here for the latestest drivers for the 1501:

You may have to do this in the safe mode if you can't get there any other way.  The latest 1501 drivers are all there, including the mouse.

go to windows update click custom,click hardware your latest driver should be there,you can go to dell downloads but remember you have to download the chipset utility program before installing the sound driver
