Standard cable TV package for Basic price?
Hey,
I know a person that was able to get the Standard TV Comcast cable package with HBO for the Basic package price of $11.... Any ideas how they did that?? I did ask them and all they told me is you have to deal with them whatever that means.
Thanks

you can get basic cable for about that price but that will only get you your local channels and some basic cable channels like CNN, COMEDY network, FOX SPORTS, ESPN, TNT, OR NICK but i have never heard of someone getting HBO for that amount.

I'm sorry that you felt insulted by my first answer to your question. I never said you were stupid. I only said "a million times" because your question has come up countless times on this forum and could have been found easily by doing a search on the topic. So again - sorry. The February digital TV transition date only effects people who get their TV over the air (with an antenna). If you have cable service already, you won't be effected by the DTV transition. What you currently have is analog cable. It uses the tuner in your TV to tune in all the analog channels coming in over your cable, Digital cable service is another form of cable service that uses video compression to transmit more channels in the same bandwidth available on the cable system. Because it compresses the video, your TV's built-in tuner can no longer decode the signals. That's why Comcast supplies a set-top box that does the decoding and then feeds a decoded signal to your TV, either remodulated onto channel 3 or 4, or output on composite, component or HDMI cables. The Digital set-top boxes are also two-way devices that support ordering pay-per-view movies and other services.
