I wasted hours reading and annotating the approximately 2012 page book of Urantia. It is a book of fiction foisted off as truth. I do not remember all the details, but supposedly Jesus is simply part of a hierarchy of extraterrestrial aliens. If you simply want to satisfy your curiosity, there are web sites that you can go to. But for me, after spending years studying more religions than most people know exist, I am sticking with the Baha'i Faith. If the Baha'i Faith can't bring the world together in peace, then it will never happen.

I do not know right off hand the links on Urantia, but I will include just a couple on the Baha'i Faith just in case you are interested.

The Baha'i Faith, uniting the world, one heart at a time.

A newer and different printed version is available. Contact your local Baha'i community for a copy. http://www.bahai.com/thebahais/

The Urantia Book tells all about the real Jesus, in great detail. The last 700 pages of the 2000 page book are dedicated to the true life and teachings of Jesus. The Urantia Book is a new revelation of religious truth to our world from God's universe government.

Source(s): I am a long time reader/believer of The Urantia Book.

Interesting that you choose the name "Lucifer". He led a rebellion that caused a lot of headaches (still in pending status in the courts, I believe).

Anyway, Rob P and Pilgrim are your best answer people so far. I will address the other erroneous "answers" provided. Any mention of it being 'channeled' or a 'cult' is simply ridiculous because the technique of it's coming into existence was never revealed. People can only speculate. The Urantia Book and its students are not members of a "cult" simply because The Urantia Book and folks who believe and/or study it don't fit into the standard definition of that word (see my source below). Most of us just laugh that off as ignorance and unreasoned fear. It's amusing, but also sad to hear people talk about other people when they know not.

    Peace to All,

    Mike

Urantia is the name of our planet, and The Urantia Book is a modern-day revelation from God to mankind. It classifies itself as the fifth "epochal" revelation, on a par with the 4th revelation, which was the incarnation of Jesus as the babe of Bethlehem.

Among other parts of the book, Part IV is a complete restatement of the life and teachings of Jesus, presented to our 21st century world, so that we may know anew the amazing facts of this most important revelation. Many of the teachings of Jesus were lost, or garbled, after his resurrection, and his original message was somewhat changed. And so, we have been given the Urantia Book to clarify and illuminate his message of the Fatherhood of God and brotherhood of man, and to help us to begin again, finding the Kingdom of God within our hearts

The Urantia Book's narrative of Jesus' life is the most complete you will ever find - far more comprehensive than the scanty accounts that are presented in the Gospels. The Urantia Book states:

To "follow Jesus" means to personally share his religious faith and to enter into the spirit of the Master's life of unselfish service for man. One of the most important things in human living is to find out what Jesus believed, to discover his ideals, and to strive for the achievement of his exalted life purpose. Of all human knowledge, that which is of greatest value is to know the religious life of Jesus and how he lived it. "

Jesus lived a complete human, as well as Divine, life. His whole life is laid out for us in the pages of The Urantia Book - and so much more...

You can find out much more by going to www.Truthbook.com, where you'll find the complete text of The Urantia Book, as well as many other features which will help you to navigate through this amazing Revelation.

Urantia is a cult based on the "channelled" babblings of a relative of the guy who founded Kellog's. (Kellog's Cornflakes was considered "health food" at the turn of the 20th century). The relative--a guy-- would talk in his sleep and someone would write down what he said. He told alternative, convoluted stories related to Biblical legend and of universes and planets that do not conform to our idea of the universe. These universes and planets are ruled by various angelic overlords or Jesus himself. Lucifer supposedly rules Earth. The transcripts of the sleeping channeller were "doctored" by folks taking the dictation and deciding on what the "story" should be. Urantia is basically a surviving, fringe cult (I knew a member) and is not too different from other turn of the century "New Thought' cults that relied on spiritism, channelling, automatic writing, etc. Many of these groups were trying to be "scientific" and presented alternative, pseudo-metaphysical views about the structure and nature of the solar system, galaxy, and universe.
