Is it true that most men prefer younger women & women prefer older men (until they reach 35)?

Question

Is it true that most men prefer younger women (a 40 year old man would prefer a 35 year old partner over a 43 year old partner; a 60 year old would prefer a 50 year old partner over a 61 year old partner, many examples: Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes, Nicholas Cage & wife ),

And that women prefer older men (a 23 year old woman would prefer a 27 year old man over a 20 year old man; )

until they reach 35 (a 35 year old woman would prefer a 33 year old man over a 39 year old man; a 42 year old woman would prefer a 38 year old man over a 46 year old man; a 65 year old women would prefer a 60 year old man over a 66 year old man)?



This is a question about age preferences in general. Question is about what you observe about most people (most women tend to prefer men that are taller than themselves, a minority/some women may prefer a much shorter man - but that does not debunk the fact that most women generally prefer taller men)
and what are your personal preferences (slightly/much older or younger)?

Sometimes.  I know that most younger women want older men because they are more mature and can handle responsibilities and commitments better.  Then, as men get older, they finally get a clue.  

Of course, this is not always the case, just a general rule.  It is proven medically that men's brains do not fully develop until they are around 25.  So, look it up in the medical journals and you will see what I mean.  Then, more women would be able to understand men more.

All other things being equal, the man will usually choose the hottest woman and the woman will usually choose the richest man. Younger women tend to be hotter. And since it usually takes some time to accumulate or legally inherit wealth, a lot of time you see the age difference. It's not our faults that our search for a mate is so superficial. We're socialized to be this way, while at the same time pretending it's deep with make believe things like unconditional love and soul mates.

You can't generalize.  I have known many older men that I have tried to fix up with some of my younger friends....and the older men have told me they would like women closer too their own age.  When you watch TV, it leads you to believe your stereo types are true.....but in my own personal experience, I would not agree.

Women reach full maturity at age 24, but men don't reach it until age 30.

I always thought women would prefer older men for their maturity. Younger men are mostly for fun. I personally have set my sights on older men, and married one who makes me feel older than I actually am. (lol) He makes me think.
