Choppy layers with thick hair? Pics?

Okayyy I'm really bored with how I look. I am 17 years old.

Heres my hair currently: Long and thick, like midback. It is dark blonde with light blonde highlights. I straighten it.

Don't get me wrong, I love my hair and people compliment it. But I want a change.

Would choppy layers and long side bangs work? Or is that better for thin hair? What would look good? Any pictures of celebrities with thick hair to help me?

And I do want to keep it long for sure. :) thanks

Update:

ohh yea I have an oval face.

layers look good on thick hair if done properly and u know how to work with the thickness. i have thick hair and i have about 4-5 layers. its the same length as ur hair right now. and i have a long side bang...but my hair is very dark. it seems to work with my hair really well and i don't really have to tease my hair or try too hard to make it look volumized when i want that type of look.

also u can ask to get it thinned in areas u notice tend to get fluffier than u want. the layers add dimension and volume where u want it.

as for celebrities with thick hair include...

giselle bunchen, angelina jolie, beyonce, kim kardashian, penelope cruz, Emmy Rossum, emma watson...

mostly though ur hair should be cut for ur face shape and body size rather than just selecting out of the blue especially when doing layers.

most of my long hair cuts look similar to angelina jolie's and penelope cruz's because u have a soft square face. a good example of an oval face is charlize theron and maria carey...msot haircuts are suitable for oval faces...though u should double check on ur face shape with a high quality stylist...i usually pay a pretty penny every few years to get my hair cut by a top rated stylist in the major cities where ever im at...just to get info about my hair and face and what would suit me...every other time though, its usually a 40-60 dollar cut...because u have thick hair, a long bang works better than short ones...just beacuse if the fulffyness of ur hair and what not.

I have thick hair and I have choppy layers and long side bangs. It's extremely cute and it works better if you have long hair because you get more volume which always looks great.

I think it would look best thin, I really never seen thick hair in choppy layers though, but here's some pictures I found!

Imagine how pretty that would look straighten! :D

It's choppy layers, but cut with a razor instead of scissors. O:

Also cut with a razor, I believe. :]

Hope I helped even a little. Good luck. :D

    Crash has good pictures.

I like the first and last.

That's what I would say, so, good luck!

My hair is like that, but longer hair looks soooo much better.

I'm growing mine longer then will redo it.

    Just have fun!

    :)
