Do you need a specific program to create a MP3 CD?
When I learnt that MP3 CDs had many advantages over regular CDs(namely their ability to hold more songs) I was eager to make some up. However, when searching the internet, it appeared that you need some software to create such a CD. Is this right - or can I just put my MP3 files onto a CD? Would this create the MP3 CD I am after?

if you drag your mp3 files directly onto the disc and burn it like that, it will be a data disc and will only really work on a computer. The problem is there are two kinds of mp3 cd....an mp3 cd and a data disc.
Dragging like that will create a data disc, NOT an mp3 cd. Some players do play data discs, but not all. If the player you are trying to use has the mp3 symbol on it then either might work, although an mp3 cd would be the easier option as between the two there is no difference in quality or capacity.
Personally, i have an ipod so i use their software itunes for everything. it has very good options for burning cds and gives you the choice to burn a standard audio disc, mp3 or data disc. it even lets you choose the quality of the audio (lower the quality slightly and you get more on)...but best of all....iTunes is free and you don't have to have an ipod to use it. its good for keeping all your music neat and tidy too

An MP3 CD is a CD with MP3 files on it. That's it. Any burning software can make them, and there's no reason you wouldn't choose one over creating an standard Audio CD. Unless of course you prefer the quality of Audio CDs*, or don't have a CD player capable of playing MP3s.
*Which is only a factor if your source files are encoded in a lossless file format, because naturally converting an MP3 to Audio CD format isn't going to improve the quality.

Yes is true MP3 music file use a lower disk space is compare to anyother muzic file like (.wma) & the host of others. Actually you need dont really need a software 2 create an MP3 File, but you need it again, dis is how it work
1.If you burn it with xp withput a software, the cd can only play with tapes and computer, but cannot be use in a car cd?
2. But if you use a software any cd player will play it?

You can create an MP3 CD but it will only play in a computer. If you want to use your MP3's to play on a relatively new CD player you'll have to use generic burning software and select 'burn as audio CD'.

Just put your MP3 files on the disc. The question is you have MP3 player. I have a sony mp3 cd walkman player but it only cd disc. Try find one that plays DVD also, don't know if they make them. But computer or table top dvd player can always almost play them.

You can just drag the MP3 to the cd/dvd drive letter and burn without any additional software if you are using Windows XP/Vista and above.

you can simply drag the files or write a data disk with windows writing facility
