Should Sanford be Prosecuted for his Crime?
Adultry is in South Carolina's Code of Laws, Title 16--Crimes and Offenses, Chapter 15 "Offenses Against Morality and Decency"
SECTION 16-15-60. Adultery or fornication.
Any man or woman who shall be guilty of the crime of adultery or fornication shall be liable to indictment and, on conviction, shall be severally punished by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars nor more than five hundred dollars or imprisonment for not less than six months nor more than one year or by both fine and imprisonment, at the discretion of the court.
SECTION 16-15-70. "Adultery" defined.
"Adultery" is the living together and carnal intercourse with each other or habitual carnal intercourse with each other without living together of a man and woman when either is lawfully married to some other person.

Yes. If it is a law, yes.
But not selectively. It should be across the board.

Don't vote for those who support such behavior or make excuses for the behavior.

Well Goober I hate to explain this too you but in order to be prosecuted for that crime it had to have been committed within the legal jurisdiction of South Carolina.

No. He was not in South Carolina when the adultery took place, thus it was not a crime.

Sure and while we're at it let's try people for having sex using any position other than missionary in Washington DC or any of these other stupid sex laws that people break. President Obama had better not get creative or he can be tried for it.

I think we should all just back away from this, even though it's juicy gossip. We've got some grown up things to deal with.

I think that if they still honored that law the state prisons would be overflowing with adulterers.
