Is Obama inspiring the youth of the world?

I work with this guy who is an avid Obama fan. I, personally, am not. He keeps asking me how I feel about Obama inspiring so many young people around the world and keeps citing Iraqis as an example. I don't want to offend my co-worker but he is a challenge to talk to sometimes. I am not even sure of what point he is trying to make so I have kind of evaded a clear answer. Am I the only one missing the point? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Update:

I'm not sure what you mean, "tenders".

Does the part about Iraqis mean anything special .?.. this is the part I don't get. In all honesty, I don't have the time to follow Obama's every move. ... unfortunately. So, maybe the answer is obvious to some and I am just missing it.

Good answers so far, thanks!

Other than the "hope and change" mantra, I can't imagine the Iraqis hear much about Obama; isn't USA the Great Satan? It would be a good strategy to ask your coworker about this point. Would show your interest without giving anything away and your relative ignorance (which I share) about the Iraq scene would give him an excuse to talk about his hero, which might be educational, and nicely mask your not being a close follower of the Great Soap Opera which is the cult of Obama. Just nod sagely and say "tell me more".

As for whether the Big O is inspiring the youth of the world, why not? He is more or less promising them that they will have their share of the pie after he fixes the world. Socialism appeals to those who have very little. And they certainly don't care about Americans losing their rights (a process started just after the mythical Ben Cartwright was the Last Free Man In America in the late 1800s).

I think he is inspiring the lazy and the ones who want a hand out. His cult believe in taking from the rich and giving to the people who in many cases have no gumption to work hard and get something in life. This is a give me now society and be damn if I will work for it.

How can Iraqis know who Obama really is when our own media would'nt let us know during the Presidential Campaign.

The youth like Obama. Probably because he is young too and doesn't seem like a preachy grandfather like most presidents.

I think Obama represents a "what can I get from the government" mentality that appeals to young voters who don't know any differently.

Making young people like you does not mean you inspire them. It just means they are easily fooled.

Sure, like people who wear those obama shirts?
