i have a friend that was involved in a fight ,, at his house ,,the person he had the fight with started it,,by first picking up a pipe and threatening then he pushed him and then punched him in the face ,,my friend fought back and the other person was hurt quite badly is this self defence in australia

If what you're saying really happened, then in America it is self defense. I don't know about Australia, though.

if its not then you should move away cause its his property and he can do what he wants so the other guy should go to jail or be fined or something
