cleaning tips please?

Its dead easy.

The big tidy up is 90 percent of the battle. So make sure everything is put away and tidy, cushions plumped, duvets straightened, washing up put away. Then small bucket of water with a bit of scented cleaning fluid in it, clean cloth and go round and wipe over the surface of EVERYTHING. Really quickly - set yourself a time.

Then if you have time hoover - or at least hoover the main areas.

Go big in the bathroom with bleach - so it smells clean. Whoosh some down the loo, leave for half an hour and flush, sloosh out the bath with it and the basin, straighten the towels, tidy up and open the window. It will smell as pristine as a hospital should!

Then put a a desertspoon of coffee granules in some water in a saucepan and leave on the lowest heat to warm through - the smell should permeate the kitchen and the nearest rooms and be welcoming.

If you have some joss sticks - then light a few of those round the house and hey presto - the cheats way to a good clean house.

But I'm loving the first answer - thats very funny . Takes me back a bit.

make sure the house is tidy and then just before the visit spray polish by the front door with a scented polish and he/she will never notice anything else! My friend and I were, in our heydays, joint presidents of slobs anonymous on the grounds that if you did housework you only have to do it again in another six months. Besides if you clean you remove the shapes in the dust and don't know where to put things back.

buy those washing detergents etc that are on adds when they have there visitor in their front lawn coming in, but the house is dirty. then they take out their product like EASY OFF BAM etc lol then the whole house gets spotless in no time. ROFLMAO jks. uhmmm... all i do is that i just get out my broom, my vacuum, my hand towel and washing detergents and then start cleaning each room. :]
