college horse boarding?

I plan on going to UMass Amherst college, to study Equine Industries at the Stockbridge School. I plan on getting a horse in the near future and was wondering if I could board my horse there. If I can, and you know what it's like there, please let me know!

Or, if there is a close enough barn where i can board my horse near-by. thanks!

I don't know about your school in particular, but most colleges have a few boarding facilities nearby. Since you are at a school that offers equestrian majors, I would assume that they would have a farm on campus or nearby. If that farm is not open to boarding, other farms will be available.

ADD- Here is a page on the stockbridge school's facilities:

Yes, they have a large breeding barn and facility. It doesn't say if they do boarding, but with a farm like that around, there are bound to be boarding facilities nearby for clinics and shows and such. You could always call the school and ask.

Caring for a horse takes alot of time and effort. Going away to college AND taking care of your horse is going to take an extraordinary amount of time. You might want to wait and go through at least one semester at college before decided to get a horse.

Also, doesn't the school have horses there? It might be better for your career to learn to ride alot of different horses.
