  • Specific song title help?

There's a song that isn't played too often on the radio anymore...but it started generally quiet and soft, then suddenly got more upbeat and loud. I believe the singer was female, but there may have been a male voice as well. I can't remember the song for the life of me!

    Any suggestions will help, thanks!

  • Ellen G. White/ Competitive sports?

I need to find (in the Spirit of Prophecy) where Ellen G. White talks about competitive sports. I know "The Adventist Home" talks mostly about it, but are there any others? thanks!

  • Kicky gelding during feeding time?

I was handing out feeds last night, and my Morgan gelding was the last to get his. I keep him at a small, backyard barn and help out with everything. there's a cat constantly roaming around there, and all the horses usually love him. Well, the cat was just walking around in his stall near where we put my horses feed, and my horse just turned on him. He swung his hind quarters around and hunched down ready to kick him, but didn't before we got the cat out. Then on top of that, after he received his feed, I went to collect him to put him on the cross ties (he was just munching on hay) and he swung his haunch around and was fully ready to kick again! He had clearly finished eating his grain, but was mad that i was going to take his hay away. He has NEVER done this before, my Morgan is VERY well-tempered.

So, my question is, is there anything i can do to train the kicky-ness out of him during feeding time? I know he was just mad I was going to take his food away, but i want to know how i can start to fix that... ANY help would be a blessing! Thanks (:

  • What is the lifespan of a Standardbred horse?

I'm looking into buying a 14 year old Standardbred gelding, and i want to make sure his life won't just go downhill from there. Is 14 past his prime? or does he have a good rest of life ahead of him?

    Thanks!

  • Buying a first time horse...?

I have a horse in mind that is free and i want to so to speak, "buy" him. but my parents say that i have to have a full year's board expense set aside before i get any horse. I can board him at my friend barn for about $200 per month, so a year of that would cost about $2,400. i have about 2/3 of that total cost in the bank right now.

I have a job at my school grading, and get an average of $150 per month. can any one give me any advice as to how i can convince my parents to let me get him now? or just ANYTHING i could do to get him sooner. this is a really great horse and i don't want to wait to long in case someone else is interested in this horse and gets to him before me.

Any help will be appreciated!! thanks

  • college horse boarding?

I plan on going to UMass Amherst college, to study Equine Industries at the Stockbridge School. I plan on getting a horse in the near future and was wondering if I could board my horse there. If I can, and you know what it's like there, please let me know!

Or, if there is a close enough barn where i can board my horse near-by. thanks!

  • how do i gain confidence?

I have a little problem with confidence when i ride horses. Especially when i go out riding on spirited Arab horses. I'm pretty sure the horses can sense it and take advantage of it and that makes it worse. But I love to ride and I don't want to keep putting it off. Please leave tips or ideas!
