I need law enforcement officers to state if their state accept lateral tranfers from other states.?

Well I thought I had an easy answer here. But I'm actually not too familiar with the hiring process on the hiring side of the table here in New York. I believe (not hundred percent certain on this) that they will not accept a lateral transfer from another state. You have a better shot at being hired because of experience but I do believe you will have to go back through the academy mainly to learn the laws in New York especially since we have so many God Damn laws you have to learn. Again, I'm not a hundred percent certain on this information so if you're interested in coming to New York call a department here first to find out for certain. Each department might have different guidelines as well.

Michigan State Police is currently dealing with Trooper lay offs thanks to our Govenor's inability to balance the budget. As of this Saturday 100 Troopers lost their jobs. It cost our state 8 million to train these officers and now they are laid off. Makes zero sense.

I could go into further detail however the short answer is no. The state of Michigan is closed for business at this time.

PS: We did hear from Arizona State Police and they will accept transfers and give credit for time served in your current position...also offer signing bonus, just fyi.

WISCONSIN, the smaller departments will usually take a lateral, but the two big ciies, milwaukee and madison will have you go thru their respective academies.
