My 96 Taurus wont start. It turns over real good. Hot battery just wont run.?

It is like it is out of gas but it is not. Where is the fuel pump? How about fuse for fuel or fuel shut off. People I am good at some things but not these newer cars.

Update:

I added a couple of gallons of gas to the tank and she started right up. Must be a bad gas needle.

A 1996 Taurus is not a "newer car" (were you time traveling)! LOL

Perhaps you should get the service manual! (RTFM)

it might be the fuel filter clogged up instead of the pump or it could be spark. check for spark at the plugs.it could be the coil if you don,t have spark. the pump is in the gas tank but check the pump fuse and change the fuel filter before dropping the tank.

the fuel pump is located in the gas tank

check your fuel pressure on the fuel rail in the engine compartment

if there is no pressure then you will need a fuel pump

feels like a quick interior the wiring to me. stick to the battery cables and see if any of the cables are broken or crossed, perhaps try wiggling some and attempting to start it lower back.
