What kind of electric guitar should I get?
I currently play a Fender acoustic guitar and have been playing for almost 6 months. I play songs such as Trouble by Coldplay, and the rhythm of Fade to Black by Metallica in the intro. I like Rock and Metal music. I like heavy music but not too heavy. I also play the whole song of Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin.
Please tell me what kind of guitar I should get based on the type of music that I play. I prefer a guitar that can play both rhythm AND lead.
One last thing: My friend is selling his Dean ML guitar. What kind of music does it play? He says it has good pickups. Would this kind of guitar work out for me? A picture of this kind of guitar is shown in the link below.

If you could afford one you should by a Gibson it really deosn't matter witch one they are all nice but if you cannot the fender strat is nice and the fender squire is about the same thing but a little cheaper.

Since you said that you like to play rock AND metal I would have to say to get a Les Paul. If you can afford one I suggest a Gibson Les Paul, if not try the step down, an Epiphone(since it is still made by Gibson). You can even find some good knockoffs that still have good sound. If I were you I would stick close to the Les Paul.

The ultimate first guitar would be a Les Paul or a Stratocaster if that fits your budget. They're pretty much all over the map in price depending on age, features, and condition.

That's for metal. Your style is definitely rock and alternative. you need a Epiphone SG. perfect for you. you can play lead and rhythm on it. there's even a switch to switch back and fourth between the two. or if you're looking for something expensive get a Gibson les paul. Epiphone SG is definitely you though.

depends on your budget. Music stores sell them at extreme prices usually. I would check out sites online for that. Either way, keep rockin man!
