YEa like the guy above me said its mostly adrenaline and i wuz the tackler for my team, and yes its more of a dragging pull down thing its not wut u see in the NFL with head to head impacts. i was so much into an adrenaline rush i wuz tackling somebody and i eventually got a whole pile on me and when the play wuz over i looked at my thumb and my nail wuz half way backwards ripped off. i didnt feel the thing and i couldnt wait for the next play. just dont be scared its nothing really, probably the only thing that hurts the most is in practice when ur coach makes u do "Oklahomas" **** i hated those. its just constant collision after collision and i dont think it wuz necessary u dont really need it so i just hide behind other players haha. but everytime i actually played against another skool its nothing dont worry about it

Anyone who says football is a contact sport is mistaken...it is a collision sport and you are correct to question your interest. If you are not sure you enjoy that type of sport there is no shame in supporting your school in some other way. As a former coach and player, I have seen too many students get hurt due to fear. Now, if you're ok with a few bangs and bruises then go for it. Make sure you train. Get in the weight room and build your body up.

If you want to play ball, play ball. I realize that you are not in high school, but I regret not playing in high school. That was 20+ years ago. Last year I played was 8th grade. My excuse, I thought I was too small.
First initial contact may hurt, but a good hit feels kind of good.
Also, Mark D's got good advice. Listen too him.

Honestly... Sometimes it does hurt. A lot of the time though you're not really taking a direct hit, your more so being dragged down, so that's not too bad. Really though, when the adrenaline is going, you don't even feel it. You'll be alright.
