Your voice is out of practice, that's all! Using your voice for singing is more complex and requires more toning of the muscles than for normal speaking. The vocal "chords" and supporting muscles are small and delicate in themselves, and need daily exercise, adequate rest, water, and nourishment like all other muscles in your body.
As you begin singing daily again, your vocal quality and range will return, but you must be patient. Ask your teacher for daily exercises that will keep you in shape, or get a book of them from a music store. Remember to use plenty of breath support, be patient, and don't force the voice.

if you've been taking lessons and have been taught to sing correctly using your chest and head voice and mixed, singing from the diaphragm, you should have also been taught vocal exercises, start practising thes and gradually build your singing up stopping if you feel at all strained finish with vocal exercises and try to increase your singing time till you have your voice again. if however you have been taught to belt song, from the throat forcing your voice, it does happen, you may have damage your voice stop singing, see a doctor and take advice,
Source(s): experience with my daughter starting at a well known franchised stage school where she learnt to project her voice and little ele she was not taught to sing from the diaphragm, and when we were lucky enough to find the musical theatre company she now trains with and started to learn correct methods not only has her voice improved immensly she is no longer in danger of damaging her vocal chords. she reached the national finals of a karaoke comp last year and we're all wondering how she'll do this year, but it will not really be comparable as it's changed to talent show. She's also entering the one on line her company is runnng. you are welcome to contact me abou anything here. - 1 decade ago
Just do a few worm-ups for about thirty minutes each day. If your voice still sounds weak drink hot water with honey. You just got to practice a bit, it shouldn't take too long.

as you have allowed your voice to de tune try some humming as this keeps your voice in tune and you constantly keep the muscle going in tune.
also vowels, a to i etc a to e and others you will get in tune be for you no it
practice and keep the the throat wet this will help
