Can you search users on Y!A?
Can't seem to find a search function. Forgive me if I've just overlooked it.
I have the person's username to IM them but can't find their profile.
Tried google, no results.

No, there is none. That feature used to exist, but it was removed due to stalking, harassment, and other abuse.
If you have the user name, then add it onto the end of this and try:
Also, you can look for their profile through Y! Messenger. Highlight their name in Messenger, go to Contacts at the top, then click on View Profile.

Usually their IM and their email addy are the same.. if you know their email, try googling the first part up to the @. That occasionally works.
There's no real search function to search for a person's profile.

If you know their yahoo answers nickname, just plug it into any search engine (yes, including google) along with the phrase Yahoo Answers. That will usually bring up the related profile link.

The names don't come up. There;s no directory, but you can make your own by saving contacts, friends and enemies alphabetically. Good Luck
