Why can't people stop blaming Bush for the bad economy?
An internal GOP memo prepared to brief some House Republicans as part of an ongoing probe into the Bank of America-Merrill Lynch deal takes direct aim at an unlikely target: Former President George W. Bush.
The memo directly blames Bush’s handling of the economic meltdown, and it coins a striking new phrase linking Bush and Obama and blaming both administration’s bailout policies in tandem for exacerbating the meltdown: “The Great Bush-Obama Economic Intervention.”
The memo goes considerably farther than many GOPers have been willing to go in publicly questioning Bush on the economy. It suggests that Republicans may soon begin making a public case that attacks both Bush’s and Obama’s economic policies when the next step in Obama’s overhaul of financial regulations hits.
“The financial crisis of 2008 had its roots primarily in ill-conceived government policies,” reads the memo. It was prepared by Republican staffers to advise GOP members of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on how to handle a recent hearing on the government’s role in Bank of America’s purchase of Merrill Lynch.

Because they need someone to blame, and they're not going to realize that it was a lot of peoples fault. Bush alone didn't create the problem.

Bush alone didn't create the problem, thus he isn't 100% responsible for it.
The systematic deregulation of the banks extending back to the early 1980's caused the problem.
The solution is to put all those regulations back in place, as they were originally put in place for a reason....to stop the Great Depression.
And they worked great for 50 years which resulted in nearly unimpeded economic growth for the US.

It took republicans 8 months to stop blaming Clinton for damage to Air Force One, and that was damage that never happened.
So, once the recovery is underway and people are back to work and investments are growing, THEN you can expect to wait 8 months for ppl to stop blaming Bush.
I hope this happens in my lifetime!

Bush began the destruction of capitalism in this country when he signed the first bailout.
However-the Democrats are in complete control now-Presidency, House of Reps & the Senate...when are they going to take responsibility for the lunacy that is going on right now? They haven't read any of these bills! They just vote for them! It's crazy. The stimulus, the budget & now Cap & Trade...none were read by these idiots. Scary...

Yeah, haven't you seen all the people blaming President Obama for it:?

The same reason people couldn't stop blaming Clinton during Bush's last eight years of office.
It's called a Complete State of Denial.

If you haven't noticed, when it's doing bad, it's Bush's fault and Obama's stimulus hasn't had time to begin working.
When it does better, Obama's stimulus plan is working! Take that Republicans! At least until next week when it goes back down...then the stimulus hasn't had time to work again.

The blame game is always around when those responsible do not want to take responsiblity .

It took Bush 8 years to screw up the economy and President Obama has ONLY been in office for 6 months
do you expect him to clean up a mess that took 8 years to make in ONLY 6 months?
