Why does every industrialized country in the world have some sort of universal health care except the USA?
Joe, many countries like the Netherlands, France have mixed systems. There are private options. It's not correct to say most have socialized medicine
Excactly right Shimmy. Capital punishment is outlawed in the whole EU for example. So what's the deal with posters like excel?????

Because legislators are in the pockets of drug companies and insurance agencies.
It kills me to keep hearing the Republican argument that there would be some bureaucrat between them and their health care. Hello!?? As opposed to some insurance company lackey who is in charge of whether you get the treatment your doctor prescribes.

Ignorant people who suffer under the delusion that health care in the US is better than anywhere else in the world need to get out and see the world for what it is. The US does provide excellent health care, but only for the wealthy. It's long past time that the US should provide universal access to health care. Intelligent voters should turn any candidate for public office out if they disagree.

No country has universal health care. You mean to say that they have socialized health care. In truth, the U.S. system has intense controls over health care industries. However, profits remain private. This situation can only be attributed to the huge influence of lobbyists on Congress.

Those finding it incredulous that the United States is the only industrialized nation to not have some form of nationalized/socialist healthcare are, to me, obviously unaware of the exceptionalism of this country.
The United States was founded by those seeking religious and political freedom. Our War of Independence was fought to break away from a tyrannical foreign government that was imposing its' will on all aspects of our lives. In short, we have long been a nation weary of centralized governmental empowerment, because we recognized that as the sphere of federal government power increased, our sphere of individual liberty decreased.
Europe has a long history of monarchial rule and flirtations with dictatorships. Our country, thankfully, has not.
The call for nationalized healthcare in this country, despite all the platitudes of providing for the social good (which it does not), is the biggest power grab by the Fed in our history. No aspect of our lives will be beyond the control of political bureaucrats. We, the American people, will lose a tremendous portion of our liberties. And for what? So we can emulate European states becoming enslaved to a debt due to burdensome Bismarkian welfare statism? This is insanity!
The other reason most industrialized nations have nationalized healthcare and we do not, is that they long ago surrendered to the fallacy of Fabian socialism and all its' utopian pipe dreams. This paved the way for the implementation of nationalized healthcare for a populace only too eager to have government do everything for them at the cost of their liberty. It is a sad occurence, and one I see beginning to rear its' ugly head here.

Interesting Question?
Why are some of the more forward thinking industrialized nations trying to get out of it?
Why are many of their citizens coming to the USA?
Let me help you as most of the liberals are not able to string anything together. Health care gets rationed.
As far as our poor defenseless children being with out medical insurance. THAT IS TRUE! However this does not mean that they are without care. They get their medical coverage for FREE anyway. In my state (not unlike yours); 70% of your local hospital budget is for indigent care. So you won't have to look that word up; it means care for people who either can't pay or won't pay.
Thems are the facts binky!
It's just a ploy by the current administration to get bigger and bigger.

Excel you are 100% WRONG!
Most INDUSTRIALIZED countries in the world consider capital punishment to be such a cruel and inhumane punishment that they no longer implement it. Typical right wing fox news bull----.
Just once I would like to see some facts from the right on YA, that are accurate.

Because we have understood for the longest time that the Communist Manifesto is the anti-constitution and that socialist policy isn't a way to care for the so called "oppressed".
We also value freedom more than a bureaucratic money furnace. National debt will make us all slaves.

Because they only spend a fraction of the costs on military spending the U.S. does. Some, like many European Countries have managed to do so because the U.S.has a large number of military bases presen to protect their rear ends from aggressors (formerly the Soviet Union). If you want to see them scramble to pay their bills (and many also run deficits like the U.S.), force them to protect themselves while U.S. forces leave the European & Asian theaters.
