Turks, why did Ataturk want us to write in latin letters?

Arabic letter is not suiteable for charasteristic of Turkish language because.

Turkish language is rich in vowel. There re many vowel you can't express well in writting arab letters even using the symbol put on the letters.

Arab letters as a matter of likes, may be nicer. It best suit for languages like arabic. It is not much better for language like turkish.

They opened more and more school to solve literacy problem actualy,

I always wondered the same thing, for centuries and ottomans where doing great using modified arabic alphabets just like their neighboring persia.

I think at that time he wanted to get rid of anything arabic because Arab leaders betrayed the Ottomans during the war.

This is the only reason that makes sense, the rest reasons he provided about the vowels and modernism makes no sense.

because :

1. Japan is very modern and do not use latin alphabets

2. Modernism has nothing to do with alphabets and he was wrong about europeans because till now see how racist europeans are towards turks.

He wanted to separate Turkey from Arabic countries, so that Europe would respect Turkey in the future as a trader and a world power. He wanted Turkey to connect to Europe as an equal. Europe was where there was more innovation, more modernization, back then.

Then continue your arabic letters.

I don't think Atatürk cared about which alphabet your people used, because you are not Turkish.
