First off, no red will ever last all night long with no reapplying unless you want it to look caked on. Secondly, red is one of the hardest colors to find for yourself, it all depends on the undertones in your skin, if you're lucky like me and just have paper white skin it's slightly easier to find a good red because you can USUALLY (Sometimes, not always.) just use straight up bright red, like MAC Russian Red like I use. But if your skin has pink, yellow, etc undertones it's a bit harder, epically since you have light hair. If you're warm with olive or yellow undertones, choose a lipstick with orange or brown tones. (Think brick red or fire-engine red.) If you're cool with pinkish or reddish undertones, pick a red lipstick with blue or pink tones. With red there are the cheaper brands out there, but it's a better idea to invest in the more expensive brands. It's not a have to, but it's a good idea.

For warmer toned skin I'd suggest -

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Red Hot

Borghese B Moisture Advanced Care Lipcolor in Maraschino

Too Faced Lipstick Lip of Luxury in Runway Red

L'Oreal Color Riche Lipstick in True Red

    MAC Fresh Moroccan

    NARS Lipstick in Manhunt

Revlon Super Lustrous Creme Lipstick in Fire & Ice

L'Oreal Color Riche Lipstick in British Red

Vincent Longo Velvet Riche Lipstick in Carnelian Whisper (I love this color so much.)

    For cooler toned skin -

L'Oreal Color Riche Lipcolor in Drumbeat Red

CoverGirl Continuous Color Lipstick in Classic Red

    MAC Russian Red

Vincent Longo Satin Matte Lipstick in Dakota Red

Too Faced Lipstick in Drop Dead Red

Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Hot Kiss

NARS Satin Lipstick in Afghan Red

    Laura Mercier Lipstick in Romance

    MAC Ruby Woo

It really depends on your skin tone, not hair colour. If you have a yellowish undertone, then reds with a plum or brown undertone will suit you.

If the undertone is pinkish, then colours with a pink tone will work.

    London Bus Red suits EVERYONE.

I use Avon's Ultra Colour Rich Mousse Lipstick SPF15 in Very Cherry. It's a very pure red, with a slight hint of sheen, and a little bit of plum (this doesn't really show up). It costs £7 (on offer).

I line my lips with a matching liner, then fill them in with the liner. Apply the lipstick with a brush, starting in the centre and working outwards.

Be EXTREMELY CAREFUL. If it bleeds or gets onto surrounding skin you are in TROUBLE. Red pigment absorbs quickly and is very very stubborn.

After you apply the 1st layer, blot lightly with a tissue. Apply a second layer. Blot lightly. Depending on how strong you want the colour, layer again, but blot a bit harder.

This stays on all night for me, and the lipstick arrived within 5 days of me ordering it.

Chanel Rouge Allure n°14 Passion. It's the classic red but so silky and soft. The texture it's aweasome and the colour it's the same as Marilyn Monroe wore. Mac has got good red lipstick too but I think Chanel is the best.

    Kiss!

I have to say MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick as its a Vivid bluish-red (Matte) which makes your teeth look really whiter and your lips look fuller.

I will definately complement your hair colour (because it does mine which is the same colour as yours) plus because of the Matte formulation it last quite a long time. I love it!!

It also won an award for Best red lipstick

personally don't use red lipstick - blonde and fair skin so would look outlandish on me!

but loads of my friends always wear it, and they all swear by mac lipstick so i'd suggest that. you can always get a colour holder to put on top to make sure it lasts

I think blonde hair is sexiest, but brown hair can be really sexy too. Black hair is actually never sexy. It's just really boring and boring and flatters few caractère. Blonde hair looks best with blue eyes.
