How do I use Download Accelerator Plus and U torrent?

I unsure how to utilize DAP do I gain its advantages automatically or do I have to open the programmes first. Also about U torrent. A friend recommended I get this programme but I don't even know what's its for Help me out please.

    Utorrent is a bit torrent program and will not help your downlaods unless you are downloading torrent files. When you go to download a file you should get the option to download it via DAP
