Do hamsters get spooked?
And by what? I remember a few years ago I had a hamster, the lights were off, and I was watching Happy Gilmore. I was laying down and he just kind of sat on my belly, but then he froze up and just looked out in the distance. And the craziest thing happened, he jumped off the couch, ran around the kitchen like a maniac, and then jumped right back on the couch and hid in the pouches of the couch. (I didnt know a hamster could jump so high..?). So what might have spooked him? What else spooks hamsters?

Yes, they can get scared. Usually it's a state of shock. They get very ansy, which explains the running around the kitchen. Things that scare them can be noises, mainly, other animals or humans, or (my hamster is scared of) the noise from the a/c turning on and off. Hope this helped!
