Twilight saga, Problem with Bella?

Did it bother anyone else that Bella didn't jump at the chance to marry Edward? She has this obsessive love but won't happily grant him a wedding because she didn't want to be one of "those girls". It really bothered me, love that strong should be above social stigmas. Am I alone in thinking this way.

Update:

Ok, so she is willing to become a vampire, risk becoming obsessed with blood as a newborn, give up her family and spend all eternity with him but but marriage is a big deal? Besides he prectically begs her and she still can't get excited atleast for Edwards and Alices sake. I thought she should have been throwing flips at the thought of being Mrs. Edward Cullen. Still confused.=(

Bella is a horrible character no matter how you look at it. Even though she resists getting married, she is a character designed to be sexist: she desires a husband who will control her, sex to fulfill her role as a woman and eventually a marriage so that she can be a "legitimate" woman. She's the ultimate 1950s poster girl, and it's disgusting.

I can understand what your saying and I also can understand what Bella was thinking. It did annoy me greatly that she didn't say yes the instant that Edward proposed. I'm one of those girls who spends time dreaming about me wedding in the far future. Another thing that annoyed me farther was that she was prepared to sleep with Edward before marring him, which for a character that is suppose to be a rather good girl is ridiculous. But I understand that she was afraid that her relationship with Edward would end terribly, even thought that's not possible. I understand it, but I don't like it.

It didn't bother me 2 much. I was kinda hoping she would give up Edward and go 4 Jacob. You can trust Jacob 4 a normal life at least lol and i kinda like the idea of being alive! But then again all she wanted waz 2 spend all eternity with him and she was opposed to his marriage proposal.... It does make you think

Honestly, I had a problem towards Bella the whole Saga. I hated her attitude toward everything and her stupidity. So yeah that did bother me too.

I think that it was because she didn't like making a fuss out of things, I also think it was because she was so young. Besides her dad and mom's marriage did not work out, so I think that she was kind of hesitant about it.
